The Canadian Baha’i Distribution Service has announced the launch of its redesigned website: distribution.bahai.ca.
Baha’i literature, consisting primarily of sacred texts, community-building materials, including those of the Ruhi Institute, and Baha’i Canada publications, will be made available through this service. Additionally, the site will provide information about other literature and where it may be purchased.
The launch of the site is the initial phase of a project that aims to meet increasing needs for Baha’i literature over the coming years and in ways that can accommodate new patterns of how literature is purchased and read. Efforts are underway to make the site fully bilingual. Currently, French language material is available through Service de distribution – Québec, the catalogue of which can be accessed here.
The site has a new format and navigation. Books can be searched by title, category, and author. Brief descriptions are available for every publication offered through this service. In a future phase and where applicable, site visitors will be directed to sources where electronic copies of books can be downloaded, some at no charge.
A limited range of general reference books, informative books about the Baha’i Faith, biographies and books for children, as well as some materials in other languages such as Persian, Chinese and Spanish will be made available. In addition, burial rings with the required text in Arabic, English and French will be offered for purchase.
The site is designed to be dynamic; its content will be regularly updated as new products become available.
All orders submitted through the site are received by the University of Toronto Press (UTP), Baha’i Distribution Service’s order fulfilment firm. Customer service representatives at UTP will then be in contact with the purchaser to confirm the particulars and cost of the order, as well as the payment method, before making shipping arrangements.
