Dr. Vahid Rafati, of the Research Centre at the Baha’i World Centre, will speak at the First Annual Conference of the Society for Studies in Persian Culture and History, to be held in Richmond Hill on 18-21 May 2012.
The conference, “Social Transformation for Today’s World”, will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to discuss Iranian history, culture and society, and their impact and influence on today’s world.
Dr. Rafati will speak in particular about the significance of ‘Abdu’l Baha’s visit to North America.
Other speakers and panelists will cover such topics as the role of media in social transformation in society, the enigmatic nature of religiosity among the Iranian youth, universal rights for education, and an artistic view of today`s society, among other themes.
The lectures and panel discussions, along with artistic presentations, will seek to promote personal and social transformation, and to empower the participants to recognize their potential in order to strive to work towards a better future.
