VisionTV will broadcast an introductory documentary on the Baha’i Faith on May 23rd at 9pm EST. Titled “The Baha’is”, the one-hour film illustrates the impact of the Baha’i Faith on the lives of several Baha’is across Canada. The documentary explores some of the fundamental Baha’i teachings, summarizes the history of the Baha’i Faith, and interviews several Baha’is from across Canada. They talk about how their efforts to study and put into practice Baha’i teachings are helping them address some of the most relevant challenges, both in their own lives and in their efforts to contribute to the well-being of their communities.
The film was produced by WestWind Pictures, a professional television and film production company that has produced successful television network programming for many years, including the award-winning “Little Mosque on the Prairies”. The owners and partners of WestWind pictures, Mary Darling and Clark Donnelly, have said that they feel the film presents a view of religion that illustrates its positive influence on society, a view contrary to prevailing western notions of religion as divisive and irrelevant. The documentary raises issues that can serve to stimulate further conversations about the importance of religion to personal, family and community life in Canada.
